Wot is Oddrot?

Oddrot is a journal of the dark, humorous, curious, odd face of poetry. In the world of Oddrot, the are monsters under the stairs, xylophone playing politicians and canned fish with global conquest in their sights. Naughty vicars, curious websites and articles written by werewolves in pyjamas.

You don’t have to take yourself very seriously when reading this online publication as myself and Tim King don't really take ourselves too seriously when we are putting it together.

The Editors

The Oddrot is jointly edited by Chris 'Solomon Doornails' Gower who is an Exeter based experimental performance poet, food writer and all-round master of the surreal. Chris has been active on the Devon poetry scene for nearly five years, and in that space of time has managed to appear as part of the Barnstaple Fringe Festival, headlined at The Blue Walnut Cafe and shared a stage alongside Marc Niel, (he was on after me), Chris Moxey and Jackie Juno.

Performing under his surreal and bemusing pseudonym, Chris is a regular at Taking The Mic, Exeter's premier Open Mic night at The Phoenix and can be found appearing in the Torquay area at The Blue Walnut Cafe. In joint collaboration with his illustrator wife Tori Dee, Chris has a small collection of poems called Minute Poems which is available online.
